salut Maxime,

Cedric34310,  I am ordering parts for my Micro Drifter and would like to ask if in 2021 you would still follow this two small rudder idea that you talk about here in 2016? If you still think two is better than one could you give me ideal demission's for the rudders?

My plan is to order parts and make the style rudder you made here for Maskali XIII SAW so I should be able to make any size you think is best.

Thank you very much!

@cedric34310 This boat will mostly be for having fun and learning about the differences of boat setup, I don't know about a body of smooth water right now that is long enough to test top speed safely so for now I will setup for making turns in both directions and maybe look into speed only later.

Thank you!

:ok:

Thank you  Cedric34310,

I have ordered several motors, batteries, controllers, propellers, drives and rudders to look at, most of them are the same or very similar the parts you used on your drifter build or as close as I could find without asking you to advise every part.

Everything is coming from Germany or China and I have a very long wait time to get here in the USA but once I have everything here maybe you could advise a good starting point with parts on hand or make suggestion for replacement parts before I start cutting and gluing. I don’t mind to put the parts in a drawer and buy all new parts if I can do it right the first time it is better for me than try to use a part that is not correct.

salut,

HobbyKing 60A (2 ~ 4S) ESC 4A SBEC

Batterie Turnigy Graphene Panther 2200mAh 3S 75C

HÉLICE CNC TS-PSP-C4834-A

Power HD 1810MG Metal Gear Brushed Digital Servo 21T 3.9kg / 0.13sec / 15.8g

If I do single rudder can you tell me if the dimensions on this drawing are appropriate?

Hello,

Cedric, if you don't mind...^_^

I think the Pistix is not needed , this Noble transmitter has a throttle boat mode where the brake travel course is removed in favour of an "extended" throttle curve.  6.15 in the user manual.

the servo could be from the same brand, but HD TR-4, it a waterproof version.

Hi

post-4452-0-73663300-1327872525_thumb.jpg

It was the dimensions on mine...I agree my sketch ;)

Hydro&marine sold all the transmission (flex + rudder + strut) in 2013/2014

Thank you @ketokole I could not remember how I found the sketch but I kept a copy for my records.  Hydro&Marine told me they can make no recommendations and don't sell the proper hardware at this time so my plan is to copy the @cedric34310 carbon fiber style hardware to the proper dimensions and I will follow your sketch.

Easy to make the adjustment to drawing now if you tell me move rudder forward or propeller back to make closer.

I will add note to drawing on my side and make adjustment once I get more parts here at the work shop.

Can you tell me the proper thickness for rudder material to make behind the propeller rudder? I read you make them thicker to run in this position but I cant find anywhere you say how thick.

Thank you for taking the time to answer all my beginner questions.

I appreciate @Maskali XIII but without the knowledge of small RC boat I must rely on you experts to give me some exact detail so I can make the correct part the first time.

I believe I read the guys want the rudder a little bit thicker and the trailing edge to be flat with the leading edge sharp when running behind the propeller. Would 3mm or 4mm thickness material be appropriate for this?
